I'm delighted. He seems to favour tracks that he likes. He's won four times at Galway, twice here and twice in Thurles. It's nice for a small yard and small owners. I drive the wheelbarrow, tractor and horsebox!. He's the horse of a lifetime for me, a horse that keeps pulling it out. He's gutsy. Hopefully he can rack up another one or two. He might get into the Blazers (at Galway), he's entered in the Galway Plate just because he won the trial and gets a complimentary entry. There is a hurdle race there as well and I wouldn't rule that out. He'll run once I'd say, whatever we get into we'll go for that. He'll have a few entries and will run in whatever he can be most competitive in. He came from behind the last day, he was in the middle of them today and he can make it as well. He's won on firm, soft and nearly everything. He's just a real durable horse. I have two horses and 50 per cent strike rate!

He's won four times in Galway, but I don't think he'll get into the Plate and he might even be tight to get into the Blazers. I've two horses so I'm happy to have a winner any time.

We have nothing in mind for him and he likes this place and Thurles so we'll see how he is in the morning and make a plan. I have around four, five horses and have a great team of lads with me; Kevin Heffernan, who is a trainer himself, my brother Richard, Andrew Flaherty who rides him out every day, Conor Heany and James Duggan, a young amateur who comes in from Pat Kelly's. I keep the numbers small and what we have runs well and that's the way we plan to do it. For the amount of horses I have, I'm spoiled! . We're finished at 9.30am every day.

Things didn't go right for him the last day at Fairyhouse; it was a highly competitive handicap and we let him freshen up a bit and changed the training routine at home,. We thought we were in with a good squeeze today and he came and he produced again. We are caught in a hard place; we're not on the bottom and we're not in at the top so we have to pick our races. I thought if ever I had a chance in a big handicap it was the last day and that's why I went for a big handicap first. He may go up for winning today so he'll be giving that weight away in a big handicap again. He is tough and I think he'll probably get three miles and I honestly believe he'll win on the flat. Andrew Flattery rides him out every day, no one else sits on his back and I great feedback from Andrew. I'm very lucky - I have four horses and five different people to ride out!

That's him out of the 80-95 bracket!. He did that well and we'd hope he'll stay improving. We are learning a few tricks on how to train him and keeping him right for the job and it's going well so far. He was in very good form the last while and improved after the last day and I think he knew he won the last day. The fact it's a local track as well, it is only in the road, it seems to go sweetly; you have to keep him quiet and calm.

We went back to the old tactics that worked at Ballinrobe, being up there fighting and enjoying it. He jumped quite well and he'll have to go the novice route now. He is a nice horse, we won't aim too high but the big guns have to come out yet and we'll hope to sneak somewhere along the way. I think with ease in the ground and running up the hill was a help today as he was dropping back to two miles.

He had two nice runs and got a great ride from Derek. We'll celebrate first before making plans and see how he is tomorrow. We'll see how the form pans out and we'll learn from the other people and see what they do with their horses. I felt I was unlucky not to have a winner here on Thursday with Kilchreest Moon (beaten less than a length) but these things happen. It's the owner that's important and Ray (Healy, owner) is from Kilchreest and I've known him and Maggie his partner for 21 years. Andrew Flaherty, the conditional jockey, rides him out and myself and Kevin Heffernan, who is himself a trainer, helps me out in my base at Clarinbridge in Galway. I'm always open to take more horses.
