She was unlucky the last day to run into Mousey Brown who was well in and won well again since. . The plan was she had a light weight and to make use of it. When she gets to the front and gets into a rhythm like that, she’s hard to peg back. She’s a good, tough, solid mare. . She lost her way a little bit over the winter. I just think she was sick of being gunned out on that real heavy ground and seems to be enjoying that better surface. . We’ll probably have a crack at Galway now, maybe the Galway Blazers. She enjoys it in a bigger race with a lighter weight as she’s not that big. . Gerry and Chrissy (Hughes, owners) are in Spain at the moment. They’ll be watching in and will be happy tonight.

She is keeping the yard going for the winter and is a great mare. She was back over hurdles today and is probably a stronger, better mare this year. She had a lower mark over hurdles so we had to use it and Emily gave her a great ride and was claiming the 7lb. Jerry (Hughes) owns her and would like to breed from her so we might look for a bit of blacktype - she is worth a chance at it as she is one of the most consistent mares in training. Emily's uncle Ray (Cody, trainer) worked with me for years so this is great. We are all local and it is great to get a winner at the Christmas festival.

The horses have been knocking on the door and I thought she was going to be second again today but thankfully she kept at it. She is a good tough mare and was very unlucky last weekend. We were just a bit worried coming back so soon on heavy ground but there wasn't that many opportunities coming up for her. Jordan gave her a great ride and it's the first winner we have had in a while. Hopefully it's onwards and upwards from here. The horses have been running well without winning. She might be one off a light-weight in a good handicap but today was the plan and she got it done. She travels very strongly on the bridle. Jordan said they were taking her on a bit and that she was running a bit on her nerves. She jumps great. We might give her a little chance now and run her again at Limerick over Christmas. Gerry and Christina Hughes own her. They are very good people from Galway and have been great supporters. They are going away to a wedding soon so they'll enjoy it even more now.
