a couple of the front-runners in the earlier races stuck at it so we decided to go forward in front and it is the only way to ride him. He looked like he was going to get swallowed up but put his head down and kept galloping. The fact (non-runner and front-runner) Tribal Path came out due to transport difficulties was a help so we won’t complain about that and got a nice soft lead today. He is versatile ground-wise and has a big heart which is the main thing. I think we’ll bring him out foreign to a Listed race next - we might go to France with him. They did an article in the Racing Post recently about front-runners in France and how French jockeys have to wake up, so hopefully they are asleep that day as well!

They are all running well lately and we had a third, fourth and fifth out of the three horses we ran in the Premier Handicaps last weekend. A couple of English ones beat us but I'm delighted with them at the moment. I'm not sure where he will go next. There are a few options and there is a chance he could go to Chester in a few weeks. He always makes his own gallop and if they want to go with him they can. He broke them today and got away, and it's hard to get back on that ground. I told Dylan to keep one off the fence and he's done it perfect. There is a little highway there, although there is not much of it and it could be gone after that.

He was disappointing at Galway where things didn't go to plan. He's one dimensional and had things more his own way today. He stuck it out well.

We claimed him last year at Laytown for E5,000 and it took us a while to get the key to him but he has won four of his last five now and was also second. He knocked himself at Southwell and we gave him a break and is going great. I was hopeful coming today but was confident when he got his own way in front. He's tough and genuine and the key to him is to be in front. It was a good pot today and he'll go to Galway next.

I was a bit worried about the ground but he had won on quick ground at Ayr, so I chanced him. The handicapper is close to having a hold of him but David's 7lbs claim was a big help. We'll aim for Galway now.

He did everything right and there was eleven lengths back to the third. We will see what the handicapper does,. Rory gave him a lovely ride. He also gave the filly (Midnightmudcrabs) a lovely ride earlier, she was second in the big handicap.

we took a bit of a chance running him on quickish ground at Gowran last week, and Leigh said he handled it (heavy) well today. Pat (Smullen) said he was looking all around him at Gowran and felt he'd improve a lot for the experience, and that showed today. He came out of the race so well that we decided to come here. We won't run him again for a few weeks and freshen him up as he's had three quick runs.
