He has to be able to see his fences, and just won't jump when he's covered up. He was very fresh here the last day when second to Foxrock but was off the bridle all the time today. However that's the best way to have him and he's tough. The Irish National is the plan providing the ground is not too fast.

he was very unlucky last year; he fell at Navan when I fancied him for a novice handicap and a horse galloped on his head. At Punchestown then a horse collided with him at the first and his race was over. At Gowran he was a bit careful early on but still ran a good race and had his ideal conditions today; it wasn't too soft but soft enough to slow down the others. He doesn't do things quickly but stays and is tough and longterm Robbie (Power) thinks we should gear him at the Irish National.

This fellow is a good staying chaser in the making. He never travelled the last day but he travelled much better today. He is still a big baby and he might have one more run over hurdles.

My Murphy is a decent horse and definitely one for the future. He was unlucky the first day he ran in a point to point when he fell at the last and was remounted for third. He did win on his next start though. We'll go down the novice route now and will go chasing next season. His owner Hans Zindel is from Switzerland but is living in Lismore and is a great owner to have in these economic times. He also has a two year old filly with Mick Halford.
