Kevin gave him a good ride. He'll keep going. He's in the sales in September and will mix and match it until then.

It's nice to get the season off to a good start. Last season was our best one. He's a bit of a character. Barry was good and strong on him. He said he wasn't doing a stroke in front.

He was entitled to win on handicap ratings and Brian gave him a lovely ride. I was surprised Bryan (Cooper) didn't ride him as he was 9lbs better off. He might go to Limerick at Christmas for the Tim Duggan Chase (won it last year) but he's also in the Paddy Power at Leopardstown.

I was in front a little longer than I'd have liked but a loose horse helped give him company. He's a good horse though and loves that winter ground. That's my 19th winner and I've one more to lose my 7lbs claim; I ride out mainly for Charlie (Swan) and Denis Hogan and basically here there and everywhere!

It's great to beat Willie. It is very hard to beat him! . He is just below a graded horse but I wouldn't mind a few more like him. He will go for a winners of one somewhere now. He is a good honest horse and his jumping is good and economical. He stays well but he doesn't do a whole lot in front.

It's so hard in this country after you win a maiden hurdle because there's too many good horses around. He's good but not top class, more workmanlike.

I'd say it wasn't too bad a maiden hurdle. He's a nice horse with a good cruising speed and he stays well. He's a horse that probably doesn't like to be in front too long. We'll go small steps with him and find a novice hurdle somewhere.
