I heard they were all backing the other horse, Rough Diamond (who finished sixth). He ran okay but probably wouldn't be battle hardened. It's nice to get and I'm delighted. If he could turn out as good as the one that won it last year (Romantic Proposal) we'd be doing alright, but that might be a bit hopeful. I'm delighted to win with him. He was a good horse for the Friday nights at Dundalk. I've been moaning to (handicapper) Gary O'Gorman that he's too high on the turf so I'd say his turf rating will go back up to the same as his all-weather rating.

It suits him up here, he likes it, and we're in our own little pool,. There are only so many horses running through the winter program so you are taking on the same horses all the time. He's been very consistent. He's been second on his last three starts and won his previous three. Shane gave him a lovely ride, he knew the best way to ride him and it worked out well. What the future holds for him I don't know because he'll get more poundage. There is nothing left here for him. Sarah's horse Tyrconnell has gone into the 90s and she has no race here either. We'll have to go to the turf and mix it with the posh lads. I'd like to try him on the turf over seven. He likes a nice even pace. He'll need kind ground and we probably won't get that for a while but you never know.

when he was younger we thought a bit of him but it didn’t work out and we’ve used him as a lead horse at home. When the winter programme was on we said we’d run him up here and he’s found a new lease of life. He’s had a wind op and he just keeps doing it. He seems to like this place. Every time he runs you think the handicapper has him this time but in fairness he keeps pulling out a bit more. He was game again today. Togoville is very good here and he was coming late and wide, and I thought the fact that we wouldn’t really get to see him he might nab us but thankfully the post came in time for us. We don’t do much with him at home. He leads the string around doing his canters and we keep him nice and fresh. He was bouncing going out there today. He’s carrying loads of condition and he’s nice and happy, so we’ll just keep doing what we’re doing. I think there is a handicap for him on April 4, so he won’t know himself not having a run here for about five weeks!

Soffia has gone to stud so she'll be missed. She was sold at the end of last season to go to stud and I believe she is going to Frankel. She was a very good filly and ended up European Champion Older Filly for the sprinting division with a rating of 115. Let's hope we can find another one like her. She was a slow learner, was placed at two, useful at three and very high class last season.

it's good to win with him. He was a little bit disappointing the last day but he came back to form today and won well. The runner-up (Masalai) ran his race, they are what they are. Everything went right for them. It's nice to get the first one of the year up anyway and get it out of the way.

he’s a home-bred and it’s nice to win a little race with him. They have been running well all night, we had a second and a third, so it’s nice to get a win. He ran very bad on grass and only ran well up here. We use him now as a lead horse, and he leads the two-year-olds at home.
