she's a fantastic filly and we've always liked her. When she was young we thought she'd be very good but she wasn't finishing off her races but she's finishing off now but is in foal and will only have one more run. She'll go for the listed race in Cork in two weeks time and if she got her head into third (for black-type) it would be great. She's in foal to Starspangledbanner (Group 1 winning sprinter), so you can't get much faster!

she has plenty of toe and when she ran at Navan, she didn't get home. We came here for the downhill (track), to the finish. She hits the gate and gets three or four lengths and she's gone - I didn't think I was that far ahead, but you can't be sure with her. It's perfect ground out there.

There's a bit of history to this filly. In 1956 Gita Weld (Dermot's late mother and a neighbour in Rathgormac) sold my father a mare (their first thoroughbred) of the same name so I called this one after her. After Mrs Weld passed away I wrote a letter to Dermot and mentioned this filly to him.
