I thought the handicapper had this lad and I asked him to drop the horse a pound to get him into a 0-116, but it looks like he was right. The race cut up though - the favourite tipped up and it probably wasn't the strongest race. He is game, Mark (McDonagh) gave him a lovely ride and thanks to the McDonaghs who support me well and Lorraine (Mark McDonagh's mother) looks after the horses when they return home on breaks. I have to thank all the owners who all stood by me (during the suspension) as it was a tough end to the year. It was messy and I advised owners to send horses here and there, and thankfully I got them back. . My horses have been running ok, but I have been running a lot of ordinary ones too so we're thinning them out now. We are very busy, I have a lot of youngsters of my own which I hope to sell and have 15 point-to-pointers. I have a bunch of yearlings too, so hopefully we'll drive on now. Denis Gerard Hogan

After race at Naas Sun, 26th Feb, 2023 (1st)  That was brilliant. I thought it might be the other way around coming here today, that I might win the maiden (with runner-up Thecompanysergeant) and the handicapper might have had a hold of this lad. He's improving away, he relished the nicer ground. Because he won on heavy, we thought that's what he wanted but he's versatile. We'll find something similar for him. He missed a year with an injury and there were question marks if he would even come back. Now he's after really bouncing back. It's unfortunate for Mark junior (McDonagh) that the weights were too light for him, but I'm sure he'll be on him the next day and claim off him. Denis Gerard Hogan

After race at Punchestown Sat, 31st Dec, 2022 (1st)  He missed a year with an injury and it took a while for him to get into gear. I’m delighted for Mark and Lorraine (McDonagh). To be fair, after the injury Mark offered me the horse to keep. I put him away for a year and when I got him back I told him he was ready to go again if he wanted him back. It’s great that he’s stuck with him and hopefully he’ll win again. It was a great performance under the weight. He’s only 15.1 and the jockey couldn’t claim in the race. He’ll have to go up a grade now and he might be better in a better race with a lighter weight. He jumped super and Tommy gave him a lovely ride. Denis Gerard Hogan

After race at Limerick Tue, 27th Dec, 2022 (1st)  He was very professional in doing things, handled the ground well and jumped well so it makes my job a lot easier when those things are in your favour.
