we had semi-retired him but during the summer Robbie (Colgan) took him back into work even though we were so busy. I take no credit for anything as Robbie has done everything with him. He is very ironically named - he isn't nasty or anything but is a character. He is really difficult in the parade ring and today we had to get permission to go out early. He is the hardest horse to ride at home because he ducks and dives and spooks but he has been such a servant. we didn't particularly want him carrying top weight, we're having a bit of fun with him but were so unfortunate as he was to run in Limerick three times and they were cancelled. I've no idea what we'll do now. We should retire him and retire Robbie from the jumps as the Flat season is starting soon! That was so exciting and we'll enjoy today.

I didn’t think he’d like the ground and thought it would be too gluey but Robbie never gave an inch away and was almost brushing the rail on the relatively better ground. I was delighted the way he battled back at the finish. We’ll just keep mixing it up with him, he can do anything and I think there is a big Flat handicap in him. What a horse — he’s won a hurdle, chase, bumper and a Flat handicap and he’s just brilliant to have in the yard. He’s a bit difficult when you get up on him and is a bit of a character but Robbie knows him so well, and he does all the work. I can’t take any of the kudos!

Robbie does all the work and has done a fantastic job with the horse. He had an injury last year and that's why he was off for a while and why he's running on the Flat. We'll start to look at some jump races now and plan a course of action. He can run on the Flat because he's got gears. He's a very quirky horse and even getting Robbie up in the parade ring is hard. He does his own thing and even at home we just let him go off. By riding up the rail nobody was taking him on, and that was Robbie's plan.

he is a serious character and I’d love to take all the accolades but Robbie (Colgan) does a load of the work and rides him every day and we discuss the races, where we go, with him. He’s a tricky horse, even at home he has to do his own thing and once he is doing that, he is happy. he took a blow at Punchestown last time and just needed the run. His options are open from two and a half miles to three miles.

“.I'm delighted for Robbie as he rides him out and does all the hard work!” . He's tricky and is so lazy he is hard to get fit. He has tonnes of ability but likes to dictate his own pace. He'll be kept going as long as the ground isn't 'hard-hard'.

He has missed out on the winners' enclosure twice as he should have been at least placed on his debut in a point to point and then definitely should have won on his second run when his jockey went the wrong side of a bollard in the closing stages. Neighbours of mine had him when he won a schooling bumper on the bridle at Fairyhouse and when I saw that, persuaded them to put him into training for a bumper. He is now for sale.
