He’s a mighty horse. He’s running like a four or five-year-old at the moment. We were a little afraid when the rain arrived but it’s not deep out there and he got through it. He might get an entry for Killarney on Friday, we’ll see how he is in the morning. He’s an unreal horse for a small yard like us. He’s a star and it’s great for his owner/breeder Mary O’Donnell as well.

It's about time he took advantage of his mark over hurdles because we have tried a few times and it didn't work out. Maybe he wasn't 100 percent fit once or twice but he was hopping today. He was entitled to do that with the mark he had. We haven't really looked to see what is coming up for him. The chases are scarce enough for him at the moment. He won on very heavy ground before but in his older age he finds it easier on the better ground. It's usually the other way around.

He got sick of running on bad ground so we said we'd wait for better ground and he loved it out there in front today. We'll keep him to better ground now. He was rated 146 at one stage and is a proper horse and is mighty for a small yard like us. It might give my father a bit of a kick now as he got a knockout before Christmas so that will give him a boost. It's great for his owner/breeder Mary O'Donnell too.

I was a bit worried and it was too close for comfort but we came out the right end of it,. He deserved it after his last two runs and it was a very nice pot. I'll discuss things with Dinny (son and assistant) and his owner Mary O'Donnell before making plans.

We can't much of the credit for this as he was with David McGrath previously and he had all the hard work done for us. He loved it around here and while he runs best when fresh, we thought he might still need the run. We'll space out his races now.

He'd good form but just lost his way a bit. We decided to take the bull by the horns today and see what he'd do. He deserved one. He went a good gallop on that ground, and had the other horses in trouble. I suppose the end justifies the means!
