We were due it. He met some nice horses on his last few runs and luck was on our side today. In fairness the other fellow wasn't running away either and they are there to be jumped. The handicapper hasn't been too good to us and this fellow is rated 127. It's very hard to know where to go and he's lacking six or seven lengths to be a really decent horse. We are struggling out in the middle of a river and which ditch to go for is hard to know!

It's nice to go out on a high before his summer holidays. He's going out on the right note,. He has been in eleven months now and after he was beaten at Punchestown last time we wanted to win with him before his holidays. Barry was great on him and he didn't get to where he is without being great. He has ridden him three times now - won twice and been second the other time.

that makes up for his disappointing run at Cork . I was sick coming out of there because I thought he'd run well. He has lots of ability when he wants to do it. Andrew (McNamara) said he should go over fences but I wouldn't be so sure because if things went wrong, he mightn't want to do it anymore!

Blinkers have their advantages but I think if he could have seen what was going on around him he would have won by further. It's the same prize-money if you win by a shorthead or ten lengths so I'm happy.
