He ran a bit flat in Punchestown where the ground was probably a bit quick for him. He's as tough as nails, and they have done a brilliant job on the ground here. I can't understand the price he was this evening as I thought this wasn't as good a race as the one he won in Listowel. He was wrong all last year, and had a few wind operations that went astray. He has the heart of a lion. You have to keep running him as he always carries a bit more weight than you would like.

Mark rang me for the ride and I gave him his first winner over hurdles and I remember recommending him to Dessie Hughes. For one reason or another he hadn't ridden for me for some time and he gave him a lovely ride,. He was very unlucky at Ballinrobe when I felt there should have been a stewards' enquiry and I felt he was very unlucky to be beaten. It was unlucky for Conor Brassil as he was on the wrong one with Kylecrue but he probably needed the run. He rode a lovely winner today though and is a good lad.

We'll try and win another big handicap chase and either himself or Kylecrue will run in the Paddy Power (at Leopardstown). I knew he had a serious chance and he could go to Galway for a 2m 1f handicap chase in a few weeks. He's only a young horse being a seven year old and I think he is nearly as good as Foildubh (stablemate). Foildubh was only beaten seven or eight lengths in the Lexus Chase so has a bit to go to beat him yet but the beautiful thing is that he can run anywhere between two and three miles. My horses are holding their form well but the likes of Draycott Place and Kylecrue are proper horses.

He's had a lot of trouble with his palate. He'd a job done at Anglesey Lodge, and fair play to all the team there as it's made a big difference,. He's probably one of the best horses that I've trained.

He done it nicely and he is a fair horse,. I might give him a break now, skip Punchestown and save him for Galway, we'll see.

He hated the ground today. He wants good ground but is a smashing horse. I probably overfaced him a bit against some really good horses but he's very talented. He's some leaper, and he'll go for a good novice handicap at the likes of Fairyhouse, Aintree or Punchestown. He'll get a break somewhere along the line and he'll go to Galway.

Limerick Sun, 18th May, 2014 (1st)
he's a proper horse and the only three times he had a clear run and was right, he won. Andrew (Lynch) said he hated the ground and he'd love good ground. He's a smashing horse and I might let him off now although there are a few races for him at Tipperary during the summer too. He's a novice for all next season and it was a fair performance beating a hardened Flat performer today.

He's a high class horse and Paul said he did it very easily. He idled in front but once he gave him a slap down the shoulder he took off. The penny's dropped, and I want him for a good novice hurdle next year as he's only a five-year-old.
