at home we use him as a lead horse and he will lead Insinuendo for the next couple of weeks before she goes out to Bahrain. He does great work in the yard and is there eight years - he’s a lovable auld devil, runs away with people up the gallop and does his own thing. Nathan has to get the credit because he told me to leave the blinkers off him. I said we’ll go up the far side like Billy (Lee) did on Are We Dreaming (stablemate, in early October), on the bit of fresh ground. I loved the way he fought back the last 50 yards and there is life in the old dog yet. He might run again Sunday week and will definitely be leading two-year-olds at the start of next year.

it must be tacky enough. I thought all week that it was drying out too much for the two of them the winner and 10th placed stablemate Gobi Desert) but Nathan said he loved it. He jumped out, barreled along the whole way, and enjoyed himself. We'll go back down to Cork in two weeks for the Listed race (Cork Stakes) that he has won twice. It's great to see him back. He didn't win a race last year but was third in a Listed race towards the end of last year and is a good little money earner for Donal Finnan so I'm delighted.

If it's barely raceable on Friday he may run again (rescheduled Gladness Stakes at Naas). That's his surface.

He loves that ground and Penny Pepper finished second to us last year too so it's the same two and those Fast Companys love that ground. He just goes through it when others can't and I was delighted to see it barely raceable today. The ground, to me, is barely raceable and he was the only one who could handle it. We'll have to try him on a bit better ground now - I won't ever run him on firm but he has ran crackers of races on good ground in the past. We'll keep stepping him up, he's a grand horse but today was his Derby as we have to make hay with him early on, and late on, in the year.

He was very consistent - the last day he was just very unlucky when he was shuttled back to last but flew home. He got there too soon today and travelled so well. He loves that ground and obviously it is a Fast Company thing as the filly (Classic winner Jet Setting) won the previous race. He moves like it is good ground and the rest seem to be struggling. We'll see about maybe one more run but his owner Donal (Finnan) is over for a few weeks so said we'd run him twice. He's originally from Kilcock but is now living in New York.

We were worried the last day [on heavy ground] but he handled it well. I was confident coming in today that there was a big run on the cards so I'm delighted he has proved it. It's slow ground, it is nearly soft. It's going well, I've a bit of luck on my side and momentum there at the moment so hopefully it will keep going. He's still immature but he has a grand way of going and he settled in well. He has plenty of pace for five furlongs especially on that soft ground. He's in again at Gowran on Wednesday over seven furlongs. We'll see what yer man (the handicapper) does and also the man above with the ground. It's nice to get a winner on Guineas day.

He's a grand horse. He ran earlier in the year but was a bit weak. Patrick Burns (owner) took him home and gelded him. He's by a good stallion (Fast Company) and I'm delighted with him. Happy days for Patrick!
