Distillate had slipped down the handicap which is a huge help to horses like these, as they always go to a level and then they struggle. It is only when they come back down that they get competitive again and she had come back down to 65 today, which made her competitive. We stepped her up (in distance) and he gave her a good ride as he had to kick when she did as she travelled very easily. She just held on but were in front where it matters. we'll potter away in similar races and the boys (Devlin, O'Hare and Smith) are from the north of Ireland and love running horses up in Down Royal. Actually I had Distillate in at Down Royal last weekend but I forgot to declare her, as I messed up my phone! I told them we were running in Cork instead so it was all for the good!

Winning trainer Ado McGuiness said, .I didn't think she'd do it that well. She was unlucky the other day in the north, she just got caught in a pocket down the rail and her chance went and Jamie (Powell) didn't murder her,.

That's her first time taking on the older horses, I like to try and keep the three-year-olds to their own company for as long as I can,. She's improving all the time and she ran a cracker at Cork the last day in the muck. Adam was very good on her. She'll improve again and hopefully the handicapper won't be too hard on her. She's a real fun filly. She was actually going to go home after today for a rest and then come back for Dundalk for the winter. We'll see what the handicapper does now and see what happens.

She was a bit unlucky this filly last year and then she probably got a high enough handicap mark. She was finishing second and third and was running solidly, but just not winning. Cian gave her a smashing ride tonight. She ran well the last day here and she wasn't overly ready. I knew she would improve a lot after the last day and it told there tonight. The boys are thrilled to bits, they are long-standing with me - Mark (Devlin) is with me a long time.
