After race at Navan Sat, 2nd Mar, 2024 (1st)  He keeps a lot to himself, a lot of time he just does what he needs to. I'd say there is plenty of engine there. We'll probably go back to the Flat with him. Hopefully we can tip away in the better handicaps over a mile-and-six or two miles. He stays well. He'll probably come back here for a Flat race in April, at the minute that's the plan. I got a few lads to buy him back because I thought we'd have plenty of fun with him during the summer. He ran very well here on yielding ground on his first run, over a mile-and-a-quarter, and he travelled well. I don't think he has to have heavy ground but on nicer ground you'd want to be going a trip. T G McCourt

After race at Listowel Thu, 21st Sep, 2023 (1st)  James had lost the 7lb claim the other day so the extra 2lb came in handy! He got 31 winners as a 7lb claimer. It was mostly through Michael Donohoe (of BBA Ireland) that got him for me. The people who own him have plenty of good horses, this horse was expensive as a yearling (cost 180,000 at the Goffs Orby Sale) and has a great pedigree. The dam was very good over 1m4f on soft ground so we thought he'd want all of it today. He wouldn't do anything flashy at home and is more stamina than speed. He is honest but looks at everything and that's why I have cheekpieces. He is tough, all he does is stay and I'd say he could be sold now. T G McCourt
