she (Cailini Alainn) ran two terrible races earlier in the year on heavy, nearly unraceable sticky ground although that ground (today) is possibly fast enough. She ran well at the Curragh in a slowly run mile-and-a-half and the nice pace suited well there and she won nicely. We'll maybe look at the Ladies Derby at the Curragh, that might be next but we'd want the ground to be good. Last year I didn't run her during the summer as I thought she wanted a cut but now we know she doesn't want it heavy either.

She smarted up a bit from Galway. It is always hard to win first time at Galway. She learned a bit, she was much more professional today and she won nicely. We will see what we get from the handicapper and go from there. She is a big strong mare and she is half-sister to Dark Crusader. She might make a nice four-year-old she should improve as she gets older. She likes a little dig and she wouldn't run on good to firm ground. She stays well. Nina has never had a ride for me before. I've always used the Walsh's (Ted rode plenty of winners for John Oxx senior) when I haven't had an amateur, and now I've used the daughter-in-law as well!
