He’s just an extraordinary horse,. He’s a real advertisement for what we would call a handy horse. It just shows that they come in all shapes and sizes. He was bought as a bumper/hurdle horse but he has such scope and is so brave.

He’s enjoying himself. I thought it was a big ask bringing him back to two miles but my backroom team overruled me and said he must go here. It’s one up for them!

He was very brave and David (Mullins) had lots of confidence in him - I thought he had gone too far out but I think he had more confidence in the horse than I had. Paul (Townend) thought Cilaos Emery needed the race and I'm happy with both nice horses. After Bachasson got a fall in Cheltenham I wasn't keen to go back over fences with him but around these country tracks he is fine, but maybe not at the bigger tracks and he seems to enjoy doing that. I didn't look beyond today and we wanted to come down here and see where we were with them although Cilaos Emery could now go for the Hilly Way at Cork.

It was a nice surprise to finish the year off,. It's great to have him back because he had a nasty injury after the Gold Cup. This was a nice race to bring him back but I didn't dream that he was straight enough to win but he did it well. I might keep him hurdling for the foreseeable future and the same with Killultagh Vic, if I can find races for them. Scarpeta will obviously be the same. He probably just wanted a longer trip and his jumping let him down again. Killultagh Vic will probably get an entry for the Irish Gold Cup but I thinking more about the horse and keeping him sound. He'll have to get an entry alright but we'll see. I'm trying to keep both of them hurdling. I'd like to keep Bachasson hurdling anyway, I might have to change my plans with Killultagh Vic. I'm thinking about keeping them sound but we'll have to see. I hadn't been thinking about the Irish Gold Cup but it's a race we'll have to consider.

I was very pleased with how he handled that ground. I didn't think he could jump as well out of that ground. I thought he was more of a good ground horse, and it was good to see him do that,. He's improving, and that was a real step up on what he'd done before. That could put him in the picture to go across (to Cheltenham) or aim for the Ryanair Chase in Fairyhouse.

He was much more professional and flew the last today. He has answered every question we've asked him and the dream is still alive. Ruby said he appreciated the 'give'.

This seems to be another lucky purchase. He didn't cost the earth but he's able to go and able to jump. He won two mile-and-a-half races in France at country tracks rather than metropolitan tracks but they seem to have been lucky again.
