Even Johnny Murtagh's greatest admirers would have had difficulty believing that a treble was on for him when Psalm found trouble in running in the straight in the Listed Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fairy Bridge Stakes. However the daughter of Sadler's Wells produced a brilliant change of gear to cut down Sharleez (who had looked certain to score) by a neck.

Johnny Murtagh completed a just over thirteen and a half to one double, as he followed on from Astonish in the 5.25, with Divinitus in the Super Sunday on October 5th Rated Race. Michael Grassick's well-backed (7/2 in the morning into 9/4 favourite) three-year-old soon led and kept on strongly in the final furlong to see off the outsider of the six participants, Sinsational, by one and a quarter lengths.

Fresh from their Group 1 success with Bushranger in the Prix Morny at Deauville last Sunday, David Wachman and Johnny Murtagh made it the third time in a row that they have combined successfully (Again at Leopardstown, followed by Bushranger) when Astonish ran out a ready two and a half length winner of the Dunbavin Maiden at Tipperary.
