At the second last fence, Intimate (FR), placed second, jumped right-handed at the same time as Jaipaletemps (FR), placed third, jumped left-handed, resulting in the pair bumping heavily on landing, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Intimate (FR).
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final half furlong, involving the winner, Zestful Hope (FR), ridden by James Bowen and Intimate (FR), placed second, ridden by Charlie Deutsch.
Bowen was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his horse to lug left–handed without sufficient or timely correction, resulting in Intimate (FR) being carried several horse widths off its intended line.
Following the race, Sean Bowen reported that Gris Majeur (FR), which was pulled up, never travelled and Liam Harrison reported that Greenrock Abbey (IRE), placed fourth, made a bad mistake at the sixth fence.
