An enquiry was held to consider interference on the bend leaving the back straight when Moidore (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Phillip Armson interfered with Tanora (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Jonathan England.
Being a 7 lb claimer Armson was offered to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Armson was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left-handed without sufficient correction causing England to take a significant check and become short of room against the rail.
The performance of Late Date (IRE), which finished last of the ten finishers, was considered.
Micky Hammond could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Late Date (IRE) during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
