J S Moore was cautioned as Hot Day (GB) had arrived in the Parade Ring wearing undeclared blinkers which were removed before the gelding went to the start.
Approaching 3½ furlongs out, How Hard Can It Be (GB), placed fifth, changed leads before shifting left- handed tightening Headora (GB), unplaced, onto Baby Sham (GB), unplaced, which had to be checked on the rail, and in turn hampered Broken Rifle (GB), placed fourth, which was following, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of How Hard Can It Be (GB).
Approximately 1½ furlongs out, County Wicklow (USA), placed sixth, edged slightly left carrying Tio Mio (IRE), placed second, off its intended line which resulted in Broken Rifle (GB), placed fourth, being bumped on several occasions, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final half furlong involving the winner, Busby (IRE), ridden by Dale Swift and Tio Mio (IRE), placed second, ridden by Rossa Ryan.
Swift was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left-handed without correction causing Tio Mio (IRE) to be switched right to avoid heels and continue its run.
Following the race, Frederick Larson reported that Pettinger (GB), unplaced, was never travelling; Paul Mulrennan reported that Hot Day (GB), placed eighth, was never travelling and the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding had spread its left fore shoe; Darragh Keenan reported that Rivas Rob Roy (GB), unplaced, was never travelling and Dylan Hogan reported that County Wicklow (USA), placed sixth, hung right on the final bend.
Rossa Ryan reported that Tio Mio (IRE), placed second, was denied a clear run in the final furlong and the Veterinary Officer reported that the colt had lost its left fore shoe.
