Marco Ghiani, the rider of Lord Neidin (GB), drawn 2, was marginally slow to remove the blindfold resulting in his horse being slowly away.
Ghiani's explanation that the blindfold had become stuck at the same time Lord Neidin (GB) reared when the gates opened and therefore required two attempts to remove was noted.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Lord Neidin (GB), unplaced, lost its right fore shoe.
