Permission was given for Weebill (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held into the riding of Katie O’Farrell, the rider of the winner, Weebill (GB), who after dropping her whip approaching the penultimate hurdle, had then appeared to slap her mount down the neck with the buckle end of the reins on multiple occasions after jumping the last hurdle.
Having heard her evidence and viewed recordings of the run in, the Stewards noted O’Farrell’s explanation that she had instinctively used the reins in order to encourage the gelding, which was idling badly when in front late on.
The Stewards reminded O'Farrell of her responsibilities under rule D(2).
