An enquiry was held into the use of the whip by Lorcan Williams, the rider of Definately Vinnie (GB), placed second, from approaching the final fence.
The rider, Jane Mathias and the Veterinary Officer were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
Williams was suspended for 12 days for using his whip above the permitted level and for causing the gelding to be wealed as a result of his use of the whip.
The winner, The Manuscript (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Uttoxeter on 4 May 2019 where the gelding finished seventh of the nine finishers, beaten by 65 lengths.
Jonjo O'Neill’s explanation that The Manuscript (IRE) had benefitted from contesting a weaker race, on this drop in grade was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination, during routine testing, revealed the gelding lost its left hind shoe.
