Mrs Jane Williams was cautioned as Honneur D'ajonc (FR) had arrived in the Parade Ring without its declared cheek pieces, which were then located and fitted to the gelding before going to the start.
The winner, Behind The Curtain (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Fontwell Park on 26 December 2023 where the gelding was pulled up.
David Pipe’s representative’s explanation that Behind The Curtain (IRE) was suited by a return to hurdles was noted and the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Miss Lily Jones reported that The Bomber Liston (IRE), unplaced, was very slowly away, the Veterinary Officer reported that Odin's Quest (GB), which was pulled up, bled from the nose and the representative of Paul Nicholls reported that Banteer (IRE), unplaced, was unsuited by the Going, officially described as Soft, Good to Soft in places and would prefer a quicker surface.
