We're delighted with that. He's been a good servant over the years and he's so much better handicapped over hurdles than fences so it was nice to get one with him,. He had promised a couple of times when he was placed but he was just very disappointing the last day. It's good that he's back and showed a nice bit of sparkle there. Mark said he was even keen at one or two points in the race. It's great to have a winner in those colours. I'd like to have one crack at the Munster National with him. Maybe before today I might have struggled to be allowed to enter him but he will be entered in it now, that's for certain.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from E. McNamara, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Donkey Years, placed first, as compared with its recent form. E. McNamara, trainer, stated that he could offer no explanation for his charges last run but that on his previous run at Bellewstown he found the ground too quick and the return to softer ground today had in his opinion helped to contribute to the apparent improvement in form
Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted its content.
