The winner, Militia (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at York on 9 July 2021, where the gelding finished tenth of fifteen, beaten by 6½ lengths.
Paul Midgley’s explanation that the gelding was suited by the return to Catterick was noted.
Militia (GB) was routine tested.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start when the winner, Militia (GB), ridden by Graham Lee interfered with Machree (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Harrison Shaw.
Lee was cautioned for careless riding as he had shifted right-handed towards the rail causing Shaw to momentarily check.
Following the race, Cam Hardie reported that Mutabaahy (IRE), placed fifth, was denied a clear run approaching the line.
