The performance of Milanford (IRE) which finished seventh of eight runners beaten 48 ½ lengths, was considered.
The Stewards noted that Syd Hosie could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Milanford (FR) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The performance of FAIQUE DE L’ISLE (FR) which finished sixth of eight runners beaten 38 ½ lengths, was considered.
The Stewards noted the explanation given by Michael Scudamore that the gelding ran too freely in the early stages of the race and the jockey reported that the gelding made a slight mistake at the first fence in the back straight on the final circuit.
