The Starter reported that Social Contact (GB) was unruly in the stalls and withdrawn at 1:01pm.

Roger Varian was informed that the filly could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference from just inside the 2 furlong marker until the winning line when the winner, Silver Kitten (GB), ridden by Joe Fanning, interfered with Canterbury Bell, placed second, ridden by Tom Marquand.

The Stewards considered that the interference had improved Silver Kitten (GB)’s placing as the distance in which Canterbury Bell was carried across the track amounted to more than the short head in which it was beaten by.

The placings were therefore revised as follows: First – Canterbury Bell, Second – Silver Kitten (GB), Third – More Diamonds (IRE), Fourth – Scotch Mist (GB).

Fanning was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to continually drift left-handed without sufficient or timely correction carrying Canterbury Bell across the course for the final 2 furlongs.

Following the race, Ryan Moore, the rider of Trois Vallees (GB), unplaced, and Hayley Turner, the rider of Crafty Mistress (GB), unplaced, both reported that their mounts were slowly away.

William Buick reported that More Diamonds (IRE), placed third, hung left-handed and the Veterinary Officer reported that the filly sustained a wound to its right-hind.
