The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Alto Sax, trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
S. Foley, rider of The Bear Trap, trained by John Geoghegan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran around a bit in front
J.A. Powell, rider of Special Angel, trained by Adrian Murray, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right in the straight
The Raceday Stewards interviewed S. Foley, rider of The Bear Trap, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was getting tired in the closing stages and as such didn't have as tight a hold on his whip which is why it appeared the whip may have come in contact with his mounts head. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards noted the riders explanation.
