Following the race, Harry Cobden reported that Eritage (FR), which started favourite and was pulled up before the fourth last fence, was never travelling and the representative of Paul Nicholls reported that the gelding was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Soft, Heavy in places on this occasion and would prefer less testing conditions; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Eritage (FR), during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Sean Bowen reported that Litterale Ci (FR), which was pulled up before the seventh fence, was never travelling and the representative of Harry Fry confirmed that the mare was also unsuited by the Soft, Heavy in places going on this occasion and would prefer less testing conditions; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Litterale Ci (FR) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
