It's the best birthday present I've ever had. It's great for her as she's very determined. I wish I was that dedicated when I was 18. She wants to give it a go. She rides well and she's been riding plenty of work with the lads. I said to her that it was his first time over seven and to take her time. An extended handicap for four yrs old and upwards (70 = 10st)
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Any horse rated above 70 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 70 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
Riders - : Apprentices who are apprenticed to trainers in Ireland only who have not lost the right to claim the 10lb or 7lb allowance under Rule 69 and who will not be allowed to carry whips. Allowances (up to and including 11th May and which are not cumulative) Apprentices who have not ridden a *winner allowed 7lb Those who have not ridden three *winners allowed 4lb Those who have not ridden ten *winners allowed 2lb
