After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Doyle’s explanation that the blindfold had become stuck on the blinkers and took a second attempt to remove was noted.
Following the race, Hollie Doyle, the rider of Lafilia (GER), which started favourite and finished third, and Josephine Gordon, the rider of the winner, Street Jester (GB), both reported that their mounts slipped on the bend.
