Permission was given for Cedar Hill (IRE) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring.
The winner Monsieur Co (FR), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Doncaster on 27 November 2020 where the gelding finished sixth of eight, beaten by 24 lengths.
Keith Dalgleish’s representative’s explanation that the gelding appreciated the return to Kelso where it has run well in the past, was noted.
Following the race, Thomas Willmott reported that Well Above Par (IRE), placed fourth, made a mistake and slipped after the second fence in the back straight.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Saint Leo (FR), placed seventh, had bled from the nose.
