It was incredible and an extraordinary ride from Ruby,. I’ve seen horses coming from there before in Leopardstown but when it’s yours you’re doubting it. Jumping the last my heart was in my mouth. Ruby is a genius. He nearly left it too late - but he didn’t. He’s a right old horse. He’s a big horse and chasing will be his game. He’s progressive. He might come back for the Coral.ie Hurdle. JP will probably have about half the field in it!

Flanagan, rider of Ice Cold Soul, trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was caught for room before the home turn when Guitar Pete lost his place. R. Geraghty, rider of Theophilus, trained by Desmond McDonogh, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount met with interference before the home turn and was checked inwards causing unavoidable interference to Light That. P. Townend, rider of Light That, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount received accidental interference before the home turn possibly as a result of general bunching. D.N. Russell, rider of Desoto County (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount met with accidental interference when Ice Cold Soul ran short of room when racing on his outside. He felt that all interference caused at this point of the race was unavoidable and accidental.
