Permission was given for Followthesteps (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post.
The performance of Followthesteps (IRE), which started second favourite and finished last of the nine runners, beaten by 13 lengths, was considered.
Ivan Furtado’s explanation that the gelding was slowly away and was never travelling thereafter was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of Followthesteps (IRE) shortly after the race failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Jason Watson reported that Storm Melody (GB), unplaced, was slowly away.
