During the loading process, Global Melody (GB)’s tongue strap and bridle came adrift.
The bridle was checked and refitted as it was found to be in a serviceable condition, however the tongue strap was unable to be refitted and therefore the gelding ran without it.
Subsequently, Phil McEntee’s representative reported that running without the tongue strap had adversely affected the performance of Global Melody (GB).
Following the race, David Nolan reported that Global Melody (GB), placed seventh, missed the break and ran flat and George Boughey’s representative reported that Everkyllachy (IRE), placed sixth, didn’t face the kickback on this occasion.
