The winner, William Of Orange (GB), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Sedgefield on 25 March 2021, where the gelding finished third of five, beaten 50 lengths.
Mark Walford could offer no explanation for William Of Orange (GB)’s improved form.
The performance of First Class Return (IRE), which started favourite and finished fourth of five finishers, was considered.
Olly Murphy explained that the gelding ran flat having had 4 quick runs since 1 March 2021.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of First Class Return (IRE) during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
