The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Lust, ridden by Sam Ewing, placed fifth, Emphatic Answer, ridden by S.M. Crosse, placed first, Vocito, ridden by W.T. Byrne, placed third and Magic Carousel, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, placed fourth, where it appeared that interference may have occurred
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Sam Ewing stated that he had not suffered any interference and his race was run and it had not cost him anything. S. M. Crosse stated that he was of the opinion that he had kept straight throughout. W. T. Byrne stated that he had kept straight throughout. J. M. Sheridan stated that he had suffered only slight interference and it had made no difference to him.Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that while interference did occur no horse had improved its finishing position as a result of the interference so they made no alteration to the judge's placings and took no further action. Sam Ewing was accompanied at this enquiry by K. O. Ryan
