Permission was given for Desert Gulf (GB) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference, both inside the final ½ furlong.
In the first incident, Castana Dia (IRE), placed second, ridden by Sebastian Woods, interfered with Invincible Larne (IRE), placed third, ridden by Pat Cosgrave, after which Woods was cautioned for careless riding for allowing his mount to shift right-handed without timely correction moving Invincible Larne (IRE) slightly off its intended line.
In the second incident, momentarily after, the placings were considered after the winner, Desert Gulf (GB), ridden by Callum Shepherd, interfered with Castana Dia (IRE), after which Shepherd was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without timely correction giving a bump to Castana Dia (IRE).
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Desert Gulf (GB)’s placing as Castana Dia (IRE) lost little momentum as a result of the interference and lost less ground than the winning margin of ¾ length.
