An enquiry was held to consider the unruly behaviour of Dr Doro (IRE), which was unruly in the preliminaries and had to be led to post causing the race to be late off.

Ian Williams’ representative was informed that any future similar behaviour from the filly may result in her being reported to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.

Jason Watson, the rider of Dr Doro (IRE), which was very reluctant to race and finished last of seven runners beaten by 58 ¼ lengths, had appeared to use his whip 5 times down the shoulder with his hands on the reins in quick succession shortly after the filly broke from the stalls.

After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Watson explained that Dr Doro (IRE) had virtually refused to race, and when she eventually broke from the stalls, she hung badly right-handed and he had used the whip for corrective purposes.

His explanation was accepted.
