An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final ½ furlong when the winner, Alaskan Gold (IRE), ridden by Daniel Tudhope interfered with Welcome Dream (IRE), placed second, ridden by Shane Gray.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Alaskan Gold (IRE), as although the colt had shifted left-handed intimidating Welcome Dream (IRE) fractionally off its intended line, Gray at no point had to stop riding, lost no momentum as a result and was always being held to be beaten a short head at the line.
The interference was found to be accidental as Alaskan Gold (IRE) shifted quickly left-handed before being quickly corrected.
Following the race, Mark Winn reported that Somekindawonderful (GB), unplaced, ran green.
