The apparent improvement in form of the winner, No Rematch (IRE), compared with its previous run at Uttoxeter on 31 December 2019 where the gelding finished fourth of seven runners, beaten by 35 lengths was considered.
Evan Williams stated that No Rematch (IRE) was suited by the step up in trip to 3 miles from 2 and a half miles.
Williams's comments were noted and the gelding was routine tested.
The performance of Dusky Hercules (IRE) which started joint-favourite and was subsequently pulled up, was considered.
The representative of David Pipe could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
Following the race, Sean Houlihan reported that Way Of The World (IRE), which was pulled up, hung right-handed.
