Permission was given for Viadelamore (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
The Starter reported that OLIVER’S ARMY (FR) refused to enter the stalls and was withdrawn at 2:13pm.
Michael Dods was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
As it was the second occasion within the previous 12 months that OLIVER’S ARMY (FR) had been reported, a further report within the same period would mean the gelding would be prevented from having a stalls test for 6 months.
Approaching the final ½ furlong, the winner Viadelamore (IRE), edged slightly right-handed carrying Rich King (GB), placed second, onto Zimmerman (GB), placed fourth, which was carried off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Viadelamore (IRE).
Following the race, Dylan Hogan reported that Pub Crawl (IRE), which started favourite and finished fifth, was slowly away and never travelling; the Veterinary Officer subsequently reported that a post-race examination, during routine testing, revealed the gelding finished lame on its left-hind.
