An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final half furlong when the winner, CLAIRE UNDERWOOD (IRE), ridden by Barry McHugh, interfered with FAYEZ (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Adam Kirby, which in tum interfered with STAR OF SOUTHWOLD (FR), placed second, ridden by Luke Morris. The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved CLAIRE UNDERWOOD (IRE)'s placing as the ground and loss of momentum suffered by STAR OF SOUTHWOLD (FR) was deemed to be less than the official head margin and in the case of FAYEZ (IRE), bearing in mind the beaten margin of approximately 1 length, they were unable to be satisfied that the gelding would have finished in front of CLAIRE UNDERWOOD (IRE). They therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered. McHugh was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to hang right-handed without sufficient correction, causing FAYEZ (IRE) to be badly crowded for room over a number of strides and in turn bump STAR OF SOUTHWOLD (FR), turning that gelding's quarters. In considering the penalty, the Stewards took into account that Kirby had been prevented from riding a finish, thereby costing him third place.

Leaving the stalls, GUVENOR'S CHOICE (IRE), placed sixth, jumped left-handed, hampering KESWICK, placed seventh, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of GUVENOR'S CHOICE (IRE).
