An enquiry was held to consider why Mark Usher was running Final Deal (GB) here at Windsor on going described as Good to Firm, Good in places, having declared the filly a non-runner at Yarmouth on 15 July 2020 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that he was not prepared to take the risk of taking Final Deal (GB) on the long journey to Yarmouth for unsuitable ground, but after walking the course today, he was happy for the filly to take its chance on a course much closer to home.
Following the race, Isobel Francis reported that Final Deal (GB), placed third, hung left-handed and the Veterinary Officer reported that Royal Appointment (GB), placed fourth, lost its left fore shoe.
