I don't know about Epsom, but I definitely think he's got a future and a step up in trip would be no problem. I'd be keen to go to Epsom. I think he can go anywhere, but I'd have to discuss it with the Godolphin people and arrive at a consensus. If it were left to me I'd be very keen to go. I've always held him in high regard. We kept him to the end of the year last season, his maiden form was good and then he won a Listed race. I got it wrong the last day, he probably wasn't at the top of his game and we paid the price, but he's bounced back today. He's a very classy horse and he'll stay a mile and a half, but I wouldn't mind dropping back to a mile - he's got plenty of toe. He was as good today as St Jovite was when he won the Derrinstown, but he didn't win at Epsom, he was second. He's a proper Derby horse. I would respect the opposition but not fear them. That is the first bit of decent ground we have had this year. He's a very classy horse and has a good temperament. His dam is a half-sister to Sea The Stars. J S Bolger, trainer
Following the running of this race F.M. Berry, rider of Ventura Storm, met with the Stewards and drew to their attention an incident at the road crossing whereby his mount stumbled and lost his action. Also in attendance were Lorcan Wyer, Clerk of the Course, Pat Keogh, CEO Leopardstown and David Attwood, Leopardstown Racecourse. F.M. Berry stated that previous incidents at the road crossing had been brought to the attention of the relevant parties which was accepted by the Clerk of the Course. Lorcan Wyer stated that professional advice had been taken to find a suitable solution to the problem but difficulties arose through the main drainage pipe being too close to the surface of the road crossing. Pat Keogh indicated that further solutions had been investigated and some remedial work had been done since last year which appeared to have solved the problem until today's incident highlighted the problem again. David Attwood also gave evidence in relation to the manner in which the matter had been addressed. F.M. Berry reviewed a video recording of the incident in the presence of the Stewards. Having viewed the video and carefully considered the opinion of F.M. Berry, the Stewards were satisfied that it was clearly evident that a problem with the roadway crossing as identified by F.M. Berry, Lorcan Wyer, Pat Keogh and David Attwood still remained. The Stewards were of the view that the problem identified required urgent attention and therefore referred the matter to the CEO of the Turf Club for consideration in conjunction with the Licensing Committee. F.M. Berry, rider of Ventura Storm, trained by Richard Hannon (in GB), reported to the Stewards' that his mount stumbled and lost his action on the road crossing.
