The Stewards interviewed Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer of Jack The Wire, who had to be re-saddled after it appeared the animal was carrying the wrong number cloth, which subsequently caused a delay to the start of this race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who explained the circumstances surrounding his error and apologised for this. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the trainer was in breach of Rule 199 and having considered his clean record in this regard, they severely cautioned him
