The Stewards requested a report from W.T. Farrell, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Orangey Red, placed first, as compared with its most recent form. The trainer reported that his charge had disappointed the last day when never travelling at Gowran Park on soft ground. He felt that a combination of better ground conditions and the removal of blinkers today in what he felt was a slightly lesser race, had brought about the improved performance. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
