Approximately 1 ½ furlongs out Tuscan Point (IRE), placed second, was briefly denied a clear run behind a weakening Atomic Mass (IRE), placed seventh, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The apparent improvement in form of the winner, New Bombay (GB), which had never previously been placed, was considered.
It was noted that the representative of Andrew Balding could offer no explanation for the colt's improved form on this occasion.
New Bombay (GB) was routine tested.
The performance of Atomic Mass (IRE), which finished seventh of eight runners beaten 13 ¼ lengths, was considered.
It was noted that the representative of Michael & David Easterby could offer no explanation for the gelding's performance.
Following the race, Silvestre De Sousa reported that Tactical Plan (GB), placed third, hung right-handed; Oisin Orr reported that Tuscan Point (IRE), placed second, was denied a clear run 1 ½ furlongs out.
